Overview of Ammonium chlorate

Ammonium chlorate of hhh techAmmonium chlorate is an inorganic compound with the formula NH4ClO3.
It is obtained by neutralizing chloric acid with either ammonia or ammonium carbonate, or by precipitating barium, strontium or calcium chlorates with ammonium carbonate or ammonium sulfate, producing the respective carbonate or sulfate precipitate and an ammonium chlorate solution. Ammonium chlorate crystallizes in small needles, readily soluble in water.
On heating, ammonium chlorate decomposes at about 102 °C, with liberation of nitrogen, chlorine and oxygen. It is soluble in dilute aqueous alcohol, but insoluble in strong alcohol. This compound is a strong oxidizer and should never be stored with flammable materials.
Ammonium chlorate is a very unstable oxidizer and will decompose, sometimes violently, at room temperature. It will explode when exposed to sunlight for a few minutes. Even solutions are known to be unstable. Because of the dangerous nature of this salt it should only be kept in solution when needed, and never be allowed to crystallize.

Usage of Ammonium chlorate

Some "breakable" epoxy contain suspensions of ammonium chlorate. Upon heating to 300 °C, the ammonium chlorate degrades the organic adhesive, breaking the cemented joint.

Synthesis of Ammonium chlorate

More Ammonium chlorate producers worldwide have selected HHH Solutions' Ammonium chlorate technology than any other technology supplier. HHH Solutions is the world leader in Ammonium chlorate technology for both on-site and merchant facilities. Our Ammonium chlorate technology is based on our research efforts as well as the experience gained from the design, construction, start up and operation of plants worldwide. The HHH Solutions Ammonium chlorate electrolytic system consists of electrolyzers, a reactor, a cooler and the inter-connecting piping. When direct current is applied, the hydrogen gas produced displaces liquor and reduces the specific gravity of the electrolyzer and the outlet piping contents. The resultant specific gravity differential between the liquor in the electrolyzer and that in the reactor creates a high rate of circulation. This natural circulation system for chlorate production, which was developed by HHH Solutions, provides the desired flow rate through the cells which is necessary for efficient operation. The heat produced in the electrolyzers is removed by an external cooler, which maintains the electrolytic system at its optimum operating temperature. The reactor is designed to provide the retention time required for conversion of intermediate reaction products to Ammonium chlorate.

Storage of Ammonium chlorate

Packing in 25kgs bags or 1000 kgs bags
Storage: Isolate from incompatible substances. Containers of this material may be hazardous when empty since they retain product residues (vapors, liquid); observe all warnings and precautions listed for the product.
Attention:Hermetically enclosed, place in ventilated places, protect form solarization, keep away form oil, acid and other reducing substances during storage and transportation.
